Marshfield Area Community Foundation offers Racial Equity Fund
For the Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Area Community Foundation has funds which support youth, seniors, people in need, the arts, and animals. The newest fund – the Racial Equity Fund – will support activities and programs specific to racial equity.
“There is great community support to help our community identify our strengths and opportunities for growth,” a release from Foundation Executive Director Stacey Schultz stated.
“The new Racial Equity Fund is designed to support programming, primarily in the school system’s K-12 grade levels. The intent is to build opportunities which inspire, empower, and create meaningful change around racial equity. The educational opportunities will help our community understand how race and implicit bias shape who we are, how we interact with society, and the opportunities afforded to us throughout life. “
The Racial Equity Fund, started by Nathan Schreiber and Catherine Savage, has been created as a field of interest fund.
“The Marshfield Area Community Foundation looks forward to helping support programming which will work to embrace diversity and address our community’s racial equity challenges,” the release added.
